The Cooling World (1975) Global Warming (2000)

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

Thumb Butte Winter Thumb Butte in Winter dress. Beautiful! In April 1975, Newsweek Magazine, covered,”The Cooling World” by Peter Gwynne (page 64). “Ominous signs that’s the earths weather patterns have begun to change dramatically” and that it would drastically reduce food production in the world. In fact, climatologists proposed covering artic ice with black soot to increase melting.

For a few years now we have been informed the earth is warming; and it is. General information shows a .6 to .7 of one degree increase over the past 10 years.  However, if you read or view programing outside the liberal press venues you will call into question the validity of the hysteria of Al Gore and his movie “An Inconvient Truth”.  Joseph Goebbels (1897-1945) Nazi Minister for Public Enlightenment, would be proud of the new “Big Lie” that he used effectively.

In the 1960’s -1970’s there were scares of a mini ice age. Ice core samples show CO2 readings (1300’s) higher than receint times while the temperature was going DOWN! What is missing in most liberal reports today is any reference to activity of our Sun which has 30-50 year cycles of hyper activity and we are in one now. Since the Sun IS our sourse of life it makes more sense that this is causal to our temp rise more so than “Man Made” carbon dioxide computer models that only show a continuance of a rise; no fluctuations at all.

World Socialism is behind what is primarly a political anti-capitalist ploy; not science. Recall the Kyoto Accord which required all developed Western countries to cutback their CO2 emmissions to save the planet. However, China, India and other “emerging” nations were not required to participate.

NEWS FLASH: 4-24-07 “China to pass USA as worst CO2 polluter by 2010.”

Additionally, the use of nuclear power to reduce fossil fuel use (and therefor CO2 emmissions) could NOT be counted!

Clearly, if the actual goal was to reduce carbon emissions, ALL countries would have to be included AND nuclear reactors would be promoted; not discounted. These two issues are glaring examples of socialist pressure coming mainly from Europe. Open your “view” and look up nuclear power on Google and see the positive contributions made by nuclear energy for power generation around the world. There is enough fuel from deactivated atomic bombs to power all the worlds reactors for 500 years and beyond! That could mean NO WARS for oil in the world. Also, no threatening action to/from foriegn lands regarding oil.

Add power from bio fuels for efficient diesel power to electricity from nuclear reactors, and we could be energy independent in 10 years. If we can only find a Kennedy or a Truman; a strong U S President to stand up to “big Oil” it could happen!

Are you a part of the solution?

Prescott Newspapers, Inc. (PNI) Protect Developers; Not Us

pvpapers307-002.jpg ”We depend on “Growth” to grow” (It seems)

As the “desert Southwest” copes with another period of extended drought, we hold our breath on new home developers interests “protected” by the biased media in our area; PNI. The lost revenues of the current loss in construction activity and low home sales has not been touched in the PNI papers. PV tax revenues ARE  way down.

Coverage of council meetings are often without negative comment although numerous issues were disputed. PNI editorials are predictabily promote growth and are in support of those elected officials who pray at the alter of the “Land Barons”.

Our area is missing a “free press” that also provides expression of ideas in opposition to growth. Or at least presents argument(s) against development or growth.  Biased reporting -editorials  is NOT a “FREE PRESS” !

I have been use to a daily paper that, on occasion, presents a series on say; “Loafing Public Works Crews”, or, “Major developer  provides money to town manager’s 401K” expose. Instead, we are provided with the developer edited (or provided) version. My No votes  were never explained in the Daily Courier even though I explained why I was voting against Land Baron (Fain) interests. Unbiased coverage would have allowed the reader to evaluate and consider the merit of my position(s).

There is NO investigative journalism in the Prescott Valley area; none.

You will note continuous “Puff pieces” from the Fain Signature Group (FSG) and Gary Marks, Director of the heavily tax-funded, PV Economic Development Foundation in the business news section. Have you EVER seen articles challenging unrestricted growth?

Indepth unbiased articles on our critical water issues?

Was the Fain Event Center in PV ever criticized for its excessive cost to taxpayers? No. Was my challenge to Mayor Skoog and the council at the Emergency Meeting Dec. 23rd, 2006 ever noted? No one (mayor or council) could answer how the “(Tax protection act)” grew the financing of the event center from 23M to 35M.  Not one; even though they had just voted “yes” on this “emergency” measure!

The reporter for the Courier, who attended the meeting, never interviewed me regarding my challenge, as tipical of the bias of the editors and ownership of the paper. This is not the exercise of a free press informing the public as a “Sentential”, but rather as something out of “Pravada”; the state controlled press of the Soviet Union. Want to do something about it?

Consider contacting the following: The Yavapai Yellow Sheet sales@hedspublishing.com  or Lonesome Valley News at: LVN@cableone.net or Read It Here News at erica@readitnews.com . Maybe we can encourage greater coverage of “the truth” on issues critical to “Quality of Life”.  It’s up to you!

Photo Radar - It’s Working in Prescott Valley!

photoradar407-003.jpg  Sergeant W. Nelson, supervises photo radar.

Do the Crime; PAY the fine. The technology PROVES the violation. Letters to the editor would indicate there is “something wrong”; “I” didn’t or don’t, speed or run red lights! HOWEVER; pictures don’t lie. The computer screen the PV sworn officer studies before the ticket is issued provides pictures of the driver, vehicle and license plate. Also present is a 15 second movie of the event displaying speed and in the case of a fixed red light violation, the time in the “Red zone” and speed. You also have the opportunity to go online and “See your violation” by entering your code number. Basicly, your dead meat!

Six months into the program, violations have DECREASED 60%. Over a 3 month period, fixed red light violations have DROPPED 66% and speeding; 54%. Clearly, with traffic flows remaining constant, speeding and red light violations are way down. Injury accident rates are also DOWN 44% so far this year! This trend should, over time, offer LOWER AUTO INSURANCE RATES in the 86314 registration area for this inproved history. Obey the rules and benefit!
